Check out Lexi Biography to get to know her better! : On May 23, 1990, Alexandra Pluta “Lexi” was born at Maui Memorial hospital. Being brought into a family full of creativity and performers as her mother Cheri Harris directed musical theater and grandmother Beverly Harris worked as a costumier for MGM Sudios, Lexi was pretty much born into her career. Growing up on Maui, the artists pop-rock/hip-hop sound and urban style aren’t what you would expect. Between the ages of nine and sixteen, Lexi resided with her mother and sister in Ojai California, aquiring many mainland influences. The twenty-one year old was enrolled in dance lessons at the Maui Academy of Performing Arts (MAPA) at the age of two, and continued studying dance ranging from Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Modern, to Hula and Belly dancing for six years in Maui. After relocating to Ojai, Lexi followed her passions to the Ojai Dancers Studio and continued classes for five years until their unfortunate closing. Luckily, a passion for singing as well as dancing was building as Lexi was also performing in musical theater productions with the Ojai Youth Theater Company. This soon became her main focus and found herself performing in 27 theater productions by the age of sixteen, becoming a regular in the Ojai Valley News on the Performing Arts page. While Lexi wasn’t in theater rehearsals, she spent her time in baton twirling lessons, eventually becoming Nordhoff High Schools only Majorette for her freshman year, wowing the crowd for homecoming with her fire batons. After relocating back to Maui right after her sixteenth birthday, Lexi enrolled in Lahainaluna High School. Not having a strong theater program, she put the performing arts on the back burner and devoted her after school time to coaching and captaining 12 Lahainaluna Majorettes. After graduation, Lexi was approached by and attended the Susan Page modeling school. Finding another creative outlet where her dancing backround could give her the advantage of some amazing poses, her pictures caught the eye of local designers. Soon, Lexi became the face of Suit Yourself Bikinis and Chic by Cheri, as well as working and shooting with many different local photographers. From all the networking and photo shoots, word of her talents spread and a liason was found between the modeling and the music industry. Tapping back into her passion for voice and the stage, Lexi realized a void of self expression and influence that could only be filled through music. Working with producer Robert Tsuhako(Rhako) Lexi began the process of creating her first album still in the works, writing and recording in “Lexi’s Studio,” located on the westside of Maui in Lahaina. In January 2011, Lexi relocated from Lahaina Maui to Los Angeles to continue and really further her modeling and music career. Ready to take her live show on the road and perform at a venue near you, this is one Maui girl you need to keep an eye, AND ear out for in 2012.
